Someday I will get through a Buffy season finale without turning into a sobbing mess.

Today is not that day.

I should not be as ridiculously amused as I am by the Buffy-and-Spike angst and drama in season six. But I cannot help cracking up like a mad thing.

Buffy, Season 2, Episode 13.

I have seen Chad Lindberg in three things:

1. The "I Robot You Jane" episode of Buffy, in which he plays a socially inept computer geek.
2. The Fast and the Furious, in which he plays a socially inept computer geek.
3. Four episodes of Supernatural, in which he plays -- guess what -- a socially inept computer geek.

Talk about type-casting. :)

Five years later, I finally finished watching the last season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

It wasn't happy. It wasn't cheerful. But it was, IMO, a solid ending for the show, I really enjoyed it, and I gotta admit I teared up a lot little bit at the tail end of the final episode. (Dammit. Spike was one of my favorite characters through all his incarnations, from big-bad to mushy sweetheart. *sniff*)

These days, my time seems to be occupied mostly by things what begin with W.

Ok, not so time-occupying, except in that I need to be there. (With the exception of today, where I missed half my IMs because I was working on a big pile of junk. Dammit.) However, a couple of weeks ago I put in my notice at BYVS, and this past Saturday was my last evening there. They were sad to see me go, and the manager assured me that I was welcome back at any time.

19 more days, and then I will not have to worry about any of it anymore, except the name changing, which is cake. (Been there, done that.) For now, I have to finish and print the programs, print out the ceremony/notes, pick up the wedding license, polish up the weekend schedule (which will mostly affect me and my houseguests), pick out and order plants for centerpieces, poke anyone who hasn't RSVP'ed yet to do so, final fitting on my dress, and we MUST MUST MUST clean the office and bedroom before the in-laws show up. (They will demand a tour, as they've never seen this place, and in the current state of affairs, I'd be embarassed to show them anything beyond closed doors.) (On a less stressful note, 2 weeks from RIGHT NOW, I will be preparing to leave to pick up my Joyce from the airport! Woo!)

Watching movies and working on various crafty projects:
These two things go hand in hand, pretty much. I currently have 4 knitting projects in various stages of "on the needles", ranging from "I just need to frigging buckle down and finish the damn thing" to "I have 18 days to finish this if it's going to be ready at my wedding rehearsal" to "I just cast on last night and probably have to rip and try again with smaller needles". I'm also 90% done with sewing a dress that may be either my wedding rehearsal dress or my going-away-from-wedding dress, with another pattern/fabric combo ready to go. As to movies, I didn't like Children of Men because it was boring, turned off Notes on a Scandal when Dame Judi Dench started macking on Cate Blanchett, boggled at the evilness of the nuns in The Magdalene Sisters, and totally lost it when Anya wanted to know why Joyce didn't just get back in her body and drink fruit punch in the Buffy S5 episode "The Body". (I should be finishing season 5 this weekend.) I picked up Center Stage and Jesus Christ Superstar on VHS for fifty cents each, Ari and I started Babylon 5 Season 5, and I have an HBO miniseries on Elizabeth 1 that I'm very much looking forward to. And I think my bridesmaids are conspiring to have me watch Steel Magnolias at my hen party, so I need to remember to make sure I get hold of it for that night. :)

Friday evening:

On Friday afternoon, I got a wild hair to have people over for dinner. So I invited Ari, C2 and Gretchen over for macaroni and cheese. And then I realized that our house was an unholy pit of desperately-needing-to-be-cleaned-ness. So I went home and cleaned the house enough that Dan's jaw dropped when he finally got home. I made macaroni and cheese, little sausages, salad, and we had these really tasty cheese-and-chive scones from the new bakery across the street. Post-dinner, the boys talked WoW while Gretchen and I played "There's A Moose In The House" (which is a silly game in that the goal is to have the FEWEST moose in the house! Bah! I proudly lost) and "Phase 10". It was a good night.

Saturday and Sunday:

Aside from work for 3.5 hours on Saturday evening and a brief breakfast-and-bookstore outing on Sunday morning, I spent the entire damn weekend in my computer chair playing WoW. Heh. My druid is now about a third of the way into L69 and can turn into a bird. I already have her griffon ready to go, and she has 2 fragments of her Karazhan key. She mostly-tanked a Steamvaults run, though there were several problematic situations (by which I totally mean wipes), mostly on bosses and mostly due to the fact that I can still count on my fingers the number of times she's tanked an instance. I was commenting that I find it mildly ironic that I finally developed an interest in learning to tank about three weeks before I plan to respec back to resto for end-game raiding. (Also watched four episodes of Buffy and The Swiss Family Robinson while I was playing.)

All in all, it was a pretty darned good weekend.

Tonight, my intention is to watch Children of Men, if I can get through it without wanting to throw things at the TV, and then see how much farther I can get toward L70. Right now, my rested XP runs out about halfway between where I am and where I want to be.

I've been watching Season 4 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer - it's really cute watching the relationship between Willow and Tara develop.

And thirty seconds after I typed that, Oz walked through the door onscreen. *blink*

Um, for anyone who doesn't know or care what's going on, please ignore. :)
