3/7/06: 3.33 miles on the treadmill, 60 minutes.
3/8/06: 3.30 miles on the treadmill, 60 minutes.
3/10/06: 1.12 miles on the treadmill, 20 minutes.
3/11/06: 4.41 miles on the treadmill, 80 minutes.
3/12/06: 3.32 miles on the treadmill, 60 minutes.

3/13/06: Dance, 40 minutes.
3/14/06: 3.30 miles on the treadmill, 60 minutes.

Well, 40-minute 2.2 mile walks worked fine, no problems. So this morning I bumped it up to 60 minute, 3.3 mile walks. Again, no problem. I'll continue this through this week, then start the actual training schedule next week.

In addition, I have an appointment for a physical with my doctor in a week and a half, figured it was a good idea because of the work I'm going to be putting in over the next six months, and I haven't had one since I was 19 or so.

Started ramping up the walking in preparation for the training schedule, which starts the second week of March - I have to be able to walk 3 miles in one hour, 4 times that week.

For the last three or four weeks, I've been setting the treadmill between 3.2 and 3.4 miles an hour and going for 20 minutes at a go, roughly 1.1-mile stretches with no problems. This week, I'm going for 40 minute stretches, roughly 2.2 miles. Tonight, that was fine - no problem. Honestly, so far, my biggest hitch is boredom. I've been watching movies - I have a small TV/DVD combo in there. Tonight, I started watching the full-length documentary that came with the special edition of Rent that I got. My moose has a book on her treadmill, but I can only read hardcovers on it (because I can set them down on the console and they pretty much stay open, which paperbacks don't do) and I don't have any out from the library right now :)

Anjela asked me over the weekend if I had good walking shoes - so far, I've not had any issues with the ones I have (a pair of pretty standard Champion sneakers), but I am listening to my feet, and if they start complaining, being registered for the 3-Day gives me a moderate discount at any one of a half-dozen running/walking supply stores in the Seattle area, and I can get fitted for special walking shoes if I need to.

Any rate, if I don't have any problems with the 40min/2.2mile walks this week, I'll bump up to an hour/3.3 miles next week, and then start the training schedule for reals the week after that. One thing's for sure - I so very have no excuse to not meet my New Year's exercise goal anymore. :)
